Webb Times

Brandon (Pete's brother) and his family came to visit from Az for a few days, and Logan had a lot of fun getting to know his cousins. He and Mariah liked playing with the same toys together, and Ethan kept making Logan laugh super hard - especially in the ball pit.

Grandpa Webb made a delicious dutch oven dinner up the canyon, and even though it started raining really hard, we stuck it out and left the wet table for a dry cement spot under a tree. In the end the food was well worth it.
Chuck E Cheese is a perfect place for kids this age. It was Logan's first time, and he loved the cars so much that he held on to the steering wheels for dear life when I went to get him off.
Logan and Hailey on the dragon.
Logan and Ethan in the monster truck.

Logan and Mariah- too bad it is fuzzy, they were so cute together.

When I went to get Logan off the trolley he scooted way to the other side of the seat and grabbed the steering wheel as tight as he could. When I went over there he scooted back to avoid me. It was hilarious how determined he was to stay on

the trolley.

A hike to Bridal Veil Falls. Brandon & fam weren't there, but I never got around to posting this. It was a beautiful, fun hike.

We found some cute fuzzy caterpillars for Logan to hold, and he got out to hike the last 200 yards himself.

Little Pioneer Logan - Carey Family Reunion

Pioneer Day this year was at Moyle Park with candle making, hoop rolling, clothes washing, stick pulling- you name it.

Logan won best overall boy costume, and I didn't even use a pattern.

Logan was a little scared of the washtub at first, but he was soon scrubbing clothes with all the women.

Logan was especially helpful in filling up the water cans to carry back to the washtub.

As soon as we hung up the clothes, Logan was ready to pull them down and wash them again. Here are our other pioneer activites.

Candle making

Hoop rolling

Fiddle Dancing
Stilt walking. Julia is one hard working pioneer.

All pooped out - being a pioneer isn't easy!
It's OK, Elizabeth will finish the ice cream for you.
It sure tastes good in 100 degree weather.

We're trying not to smile.

Wouldn't be a reunion without family orchestra the next day.

or good food like Grandma Carey's 90th birthday cake -there really are 90 candles.
What fun cousins. The whole Vernon family minus Parley, Rod, Amanda and David.

Tour de Donut

Annie, Ruthann and I (friends from my grad program) had a blast at the Tour de Donut Sat in AF. You ride 21 miles in three 7 mile loops. After loops one and two you can stop at a table and eat as many donuts as you want, and a volunteer records it on your race number. You get three minutes off for every donut you eat. I thought I could eat a ton, but only ended up eating 8. It is so hard to eat them when you are exercising, they start getting really gross and I felt like throwing up. I kept thinking how good Parley, Scott or William would do, I bet they could eat at least 10. But the Tour de Donut Champion ate 28 donuts! He was also the King of Donuts (guy who ate the most and still finished). I saw him smash two together and stuff them down like a pro. He had a hard time getting on his bike after eating 21 on his first stop. He killed everyone else in the men's category, though so don't think everyone ate that many. Most guys ate around 6.

I was so mad later to find out that the Queen of Donuts only ate nine! I could have eaten two more if I wasn't trying to be fast. I ended up getting 5th in women. If only I had eaten a couple more!

A Father's Day Tribute

Look at all the good times Logan and Pete share! Pete has been the best father because he is so patient and caring yet at the same time playful and fun. Pete watches Logan almost every morning and sings him to sleep at night with spanish hymns. Logan lights up when Pete is around and loves to play chase with him. What a great father!
