I Found a Ducky That Loves Me

I wonder if Mom will get mad if I step in the water.

Wow, they usually just run away from me.

I know I just ate a ton, but I can't pass up a chance to eat some dirty bread. I need food too, Mom.

I can jump on command and pet the ducky with a stick. I am such a big boy.

I Want a Summer Buzz Like You, Dad

What is that cool buzzing thing, and why did Mommy put a trash bag on me?
I hope you know what you're doing, Daddy.
Daddy, what did you do?
Bye bye you hot, carseat-sweaty, ear-tickling, bedhead curls.

Fun Run

The Alpine North Stake Fun Run was a blast this year. Rachel and I decided to push strollers and I wanted to push the double with Alan and Logan. A good idea until Alan fussed at mile two. What could I do? He quieted down, though and was rewarded with Stephen's Hot Cocoa, pancakes, fruit salad and eggs at the end. Way to go in your first race, Logan and Alan! You guys are champs! And we ended up winning the 20-30 female age group - a big suprise to me. What good little racers.

Logan is One!

A JCPenney's Photo. A timeline of Logan's first year.
Logan loves balls and pools, so I brought out the whale pools I got at DI -what a find for $1 each,- and filled them with balls and water. Logan had a blast, playing so hard he fell asleep way early. Logan's best neighbor friends, Emily and Emory.
Logan and Micah, BYU buddies.Alan was much braver than Logan.
Logan and Alan enjoyed ice cream cones instead of cake. Look at those beer bellies.
Not exactly professional, but even if you didn't know it was Optimus Prime, hopefully you could tell it's a truck.
Logan tried so hard to blow out the candle that he almost drooled on the cake -Don't worry I caught it with my hand just in time! Logan got a load of presents, his favorite are a piano and his turtle sandbox. Thanks everyone!

A Night Out

I convinced Pete to go to BYU's alumni dance- the Traditions Ball, in the Hinckley Center. You may be wondering how I got him to go to a dance, but the secret is that we mostly just watched the entertainment, and had great refreshments. The best entertainment was Noteworthy, the female version of Vocal Point, and they had some really funny numbers. We noticed the yearbooks from the 50's 60's and 70's displayed, and I randomly picked one that had Uncle Bob (Robert Webb) in it. Then I looked for Mom, and found her on my third try in '64 - who would've guessed? Can you find her? Mom was easy to pick out in all the orchestra pictures with her big hair, on the front row looking all smart and pretty. Actually my favorite part of the evening was walking out to the gazebo in the stars, and it just reminded me so much of Twilight, so I leaned my neck back and told Pete I was ready for him to bite me. Pete was super embarrassed, because the people next to us heard, but it was just the perfect setting and I could easily imagine some of the couples as vampires. Of course we were not the only ones to think along those lines -I overheard Cullen comments all night. However the only fangs I saw were Cosmo's (but who's really under that costume?). I was worried to leave Logan for so long, but the evening worked out great because Hallie watched Logan in SF where he played with baby Julia, and then went right to sleep when she put him in his crib. When we came home he was sleeping soundly. What a nice night out.
