Las Vegas

I loved this chandalier. Each crystal was hanging from its own thread, and could move separately. I tried to blow on them, but they were too far away.
Pete relaxing after a long day of driving.
We had fun with Hallie. Julia and Logan loved the family hot tub- there was also an adult hot tub and pool -and Julia even learned how to say "hot tub" really cute. Logan would just point at it and walk over there saying "hot, hot," and then get in by himself.
The Silverton was a fun place for Logan, even if we missed the mermaid show.
See the big Manta Ray sucking on the glass.

Planet Hollywood with its cool indoor sky.
MGM Grand. The Rainforest Cafe. Logan really liked the twinking stars, moving butterflies and a moving alligator.
The Bellagio, my favorite hotel.

We went to the Ultimate Variety show -really good because it had a little of everything. We liked the acrobatic guys, and the piano juggler was really funny. I'd say it was worth the 90 minutes of salesman's blabber- plus we got 5 buffet tickets.

Camping Out

Spanish Fork River Park and campground is just 5 minutes up the canyon. We slept in the primitive area, which is only $2 a person, but you had to walk about 200 yards from your car over a little bridge. It was worth it because no one else was there- except for the millions of mosquitoes. We all got a couple bites.

Pete's cool way to cook eggs and pancakes.

County Fair

Logan and his friend Jacob had so much fun at the carnival. Patty is my new friend in the ward. She is from Peru and is really fun. They speak spanish at home, so Jacob always says "Hola Hogan," and it is so cute. Her mom lives with them and doesn't speak much english, so I have fun trying to talk to her in spanish. I got discount tickets at Maceys, and then sold some, so our tickets cost next to nothing.
Logan and Jacob loved the cars of course.
There was a huge tractor. We also liked seeing all the sheep and cows.

Randomly, there were Peruvian dancers at the Macey's stage where we all went to get free popcorn. Logan and Jacob were full of energy even though it was 9:00, and they were both dancing really cute, although Logan stopped dancing when I started videoing. The dance teacher asked if anyone knew where the dances were from, and Patty said, "Peru". The teacher said, "No, Bolivia," which was funny because Patty and her Mom would know. Then the teacher said that actually they were all the same countries back then. It was such a fun evening.

Mom's Little Helper

Last Saturday I got Logan's vacuum at a yard sale for a quarter so that he wouldn't always try to steal my vacuum, and it worked. I was able to vacuum the whole main level, and Logan was content with his own little Dirt Devil.

Webb Times

Brandon (Pete's brother) and his family came to visit from Az for a few days, and Logan had a lot of fun getting to know his cousins. He and Mariah liked playing with the same toys together, and Ethan kept making Logan laugh super hard - especially in the ball pit.
Grandpa Webb made a delicious dutch oven dinner up the canyon, and even though it started raining really hard, we stuck it out and left the wet table for a dry cement spot under a tree. In the end the food was well worth it.
Chuck E Cheese is a perfect place for kids this age. It was Logan's first time, and he loved the cars so much that he held on to the steering wheels for dear life when I went to get him off.
Logan and Hailey on the dragon.
Logan and Ethan in the monster truck.
Logan and Mariah- too bad it is fuzzy, they were so cute together.
When I went to get Logan off the trolley he scooted way to the other side of the seat and grabbed the steering wheel as tight as he could. When I went over there he scooted back to avoid me. It was hilarious how determined he was to stay on
the trolley.
A hike to Bridal Veil Falls. Brandon & fam weren't there, but I never got around to posting this. It was a beautiful, fun hike.

We found some cute fuzzy caterpillars for Logan to hold, and he got out to hike the last 200 yards himself.

Little Pioneer Logan - Carey Family Reunion

Pioneer Day this year was at Moyle Park with candle making, hoop rolling, clothes washing, stick pulling- you name it.

Logan won best overall boy costume, and I didn't even use a pattern.

Logan was a little scared of the washtub at first, but he was soon scrubbing clothes with all the women.

Logan was especially helpful in filling up the water cans to carry back to the washtub.
As soon as we hung up the clothes, Logan was ready to pull them down and wash them again. Here are our other pioneer activites.

Candle making
Hoop rolling

Fiddle Dancing
Stilt walking. Julia is one hard working pioneer.

All pooped out - being a pioneer isn't easy!
It's OK, Elizabeth will finish the ice cream for you.
It sure tastes good in 100 degree weather.

We're trying not to smile.

Wouldn't be a reunion without family orchestra the next day.

or good food like Grandma Carey's 90th birthday cake -there really are 90 candles.
What fun cousins. The whole Vernon family minus Parley, Rod, Amanda and David.
